About Online Learning

Online learning is a very flexible way to take classes.  Students have access to lessons through www.myenglishonline.ca

Online or distance education is best suited for students who are self-motivated, self-disciplined and self-starting.

It usually takes a few weeks to get adjusted to the idea of online learning.  Many students enjoy this style of learning since it is very flexible, and they are able to study when they have time.

How does it work?

  • You will log in at www.myenglishonline.ca  every week and submit your assignments to your online instructor.
  • Your online instructor will give you feedback on your strengths and weaknesses.  They will  help you to improve your English and cultural communication skills.
  • You can participate in weekly online chats using Skype (www.skype.com) with other students and instructors.

Onsite Classes

Participants who want to improve their listening and speaking skills are encouraged to participate in onsite classes.  During these classes, an experienced instructor will:

  • Help students to develop their listening and speaking skills
  • Focus on developing essential listening and speaking skills, and teach cultural awareness for nurses
  • Give writing and reading tasks for homework
  • Provide feedback on student assignments and help them to identify areas that need more improvement

Participants in this program must have good time management skills and the ability to balance home/work/study time effectively.  It is important to organize study time and submit assignments regularly during the 13-week session. (On average it takes 4-6 hours a week to complete the lessons.)
