Canadian English Accent Training
Canadian English Accent Training is a program offering personal pronunciation and English accent training within a small group setting. The program is specifically designed for nurses, using vocabulary, exercises, and role-playing unique to the medical setting.
An accent is a unique, personal trait to be celebrated. English accent training does not seek to eliminate an individual's accent, but rather to assist students in altering their speech patterns, so communication with other English speakers becomes more precise and confident.
Accent training is an intensive process that involves developing an awareness of the linguistic elements of English speech patterns and applying these 'rules' to one's own speech.
Students will learn to recognize and adjust:
- intonation and stress patterns
- vowel production
- consonant articulation
Each student will be assessed at the beginning and end of the program, and provided with a personal progress report.
